Workshop at the 3rd Swiss Text Analytics Conference, Wednesday June 13, 2018
In this workshop we discuss the first step to initiate collaborations among companies and academic institutions for developing Swiss German resources and activities.
There is a growing interest for applying automatic text processing technologies to Swiss German data, and several companies and academic institutions started working on this task. However, the currently developed datasets are small and isolated, and thus, the systems tend to underperform.
Therefore, we intend to close this gap by facilitating the collaboration among different parties to develop resources or joint activities for the Swiss German language. This workshop marks the first step into this direction. The goal is to facilitate the exchange of existing data and initiate future joint developments.

This workshop is aimed towards people from both industry and academia who are working on technologies for automated Swiss German text processing. We also encourage people who are planning on doing work for Swiss German to join the workshop.
