It is organised by the Swiss Association for Natural Language Processing (SwissNLP) in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) as well as the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and the data innovation alliance. SwissText 2021 is part of the \u201cNetworking Event Series &#8211; Natural Language Processing\u201d funded by InnoSuisse, the Swiss Innovation Agency. It is supported by more than 10 universities and scientific associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SwissText conference will feature the following tracks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Applied Track<\/strong>, with a strong focus on industry and applied research. This track constitutes the continuation of the &#8220;Swiss Track&#8221; from previous SwissText editions.<\/li><li><strong>Scientific Track<\/strong>, with technical research papers from the international scientific community.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Demo Track<\/strong>, which provides a platform for companies and universities to showcase their interactive NLP solutions.<\/li><li><strong>&lt;NEW&gt; Highlights Track<\/strong>, where you can present any interesting talk or paper you have seen or given in the past year, in a top tier conference.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT UPDATE: <\/strong>Since the chances of a &#8220;return to normal&#8221; by June are getting slimmer by the day, SwissText 2021 will take place as a virtual conference. We&#8217;re working on converting all presentation types to a suitable online format. For this track, we are looking for presentations with a <strong>strong focus on practical applicability<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presentations can be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Showcases<\/li><li>Applications (if you have a live demonstration, please submit to the Demo Track instead)<\/li><li>Resources such as corpora<\/li><li>Applied research results<\/li><li>Any other contribution that is interesting to the audience<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4>Submission Format:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Short abstract (up to 1500 characters)<\/li><li>CV of the presenter (text format, no tables \u2014 max. 500 characters)<\/li><li>Intended audience (e.g. developers, decision makers, project managers, max. 300 characters)<\/li><li>All data is entered online via <a href=\"https:\/\/easychair.org\/conferences\/?conf=swisstext2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EasyChair<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4>Presentation Mode:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Talk or poster<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: If you intend to publish a full scientific paper, please submit it to the Scientific Track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2>Scientific Track<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In this track, we welcome <strong>classical technical papers<\/strong> dealing with any topic in the fields of natural language processing, computational linguistics, and machine learning\/data science with a focus on text analytics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Important: We also welcome papers which did not get accepted at top-tier conferences but are interesting to the SwissText community.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We welcome the following two types of contributions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Long papers (8 pages plus references): substantial results<\/li><li>Short papers (4 pages plus references): progress reports and similar<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4>Submission Format:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Please use the ACL LaTeX <a href=\"http:\/\/acl2020.org\/downloads\/acl2020-templates.zip\">template<\/a><\/li><li>Language: English<\/li><li>Anonymization: The review process will be double blind; we ask authors to anonymize their submission reasonably. The goal is to give developers, companies, and researchers a platform to showcase their products and tools, and for the audience to get an overview of available and prototyped NLP solutions. Therefore, we are introducing the <strong>Highlights Track<\/strong>, where we are looking for published work that is interesting to the Swiss community. This means you can present your own <strong>already published work,<\/strong> or you can<strong> recap and discuss an exciting talk or paper <\/strong>you have seen recently (e.g. at one of the top-level conferences such as ACL, EMNLP etc.). For presentations in the Applied and Highlights Tracks, the abstract will be included in the proceedings. There is no differentiation between oral or poster presentations in the proceedings. The proceedings will be published on <a href=\"http:\/\/ceur-ws.org\/\">CEUR-WS.org<\/a> (open access). To appear in the proceedings, each contribution has to be presented by at least one author at the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2>Presentation Types<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Accepted submissions in the Applied Track and the Scientific Track will be presented orally or as posters, as determined by the program committee. All accepted submissions in the Highlights track will be presented orally.
